This rail is a tensioned fence and acts like a belt around your paddock. The rail is attached to wooden posts with steel brackets, which allow the rail to move in and out when pressure is applied to the rail at any point along the fence line.

McNamara Fencing’s Post and Rail Fencing is manufactured from imported Redwood (Pine), Larch and Douglas Fir only as opposed to Native Whitewood (Spruce). These species are more naturally more durable than native timbers and retain higher levels of preservative.

Only then is the timber pressure-treated with genuine coal tar creosote or where creosote is not suitable water-borne preservatives can also be specified.

Unlike other preservatives, pressure-creosoted timber does not contain salt and is therefore unpalatable for horses to crib. It is therefore the only suitable post and rail option for horse paddocks, arenas or lunging rings. Electric horse cable is a polyethylene coated 2.5mm high tensile steel wire with multiple strips of conductive carbon carrying the electrical current from the wire to the surface. 

Safe:Electric Horse Cable was designed from the outset to be a safe fence for horses. Due to it’s high-tensile steel core the fence reduces the chance of the fence “wrapping around” your horses should they impact it. Smooth Polymer coating protects the horse’s skin from abrasions or grazes.
